The Perfect Punishment (Poem)
Grotesque claws clench his soul
And dig into his chest
Like butcher hooks.
They eat away at its sinews
Like a starved wolf
Delighting in the cries of its prey.

Don’t Delay Your Dreams!
“What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore–
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over–
like a syrupy sweet?Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.Or does it explode?”
~ Langston Hughes
Dreams are something that keep us going and reflect our deepest desires. They are the ultimate goals we have for ourselves. Their accomplishment could mean the world for us.
In his poem “Dream Deferred” (also known as “Harlem”), Langston Hughes talks about what happens when you postpone your dreams. Does it matter? Will the consequences be significant? Let’s find out.
A Picnic in Eden (Poem)
Legs sprawled on the soft bed of the Earth,
Hands splayed on the cool silk of Its robe.
An authentic smile adorned her face –
Not compulsed by politeness,
Nor feigned to fake being fine.
Her eyes flirted with the gay sun,
Her ears tingled with the kindness of the sea.
4 Ways to Fight Discouragement
Sometimes in life, we go through experiences which put us down. You really wanted that job but didn’t get it, you wanted to break a drinking habit but failed, you wanted to do something special for someone but things didn’t go as planned.
It happens and it’s normal, but it puts us in a state of sadness. So what do you do to overcome this? Well, we’re gonna explore just that in this article.
Single on Valentine’s Day?
If you’re single and down because of Valentine’s, don’t be. There are many things you should cherish and many things to love. Here’s an article by Righting Now talking about the many beauties you miss and should be grateful for
What can I say? I’m single and it’s Valentine’s Day. I bought myself breakfast this morning and last night I gorged on candy that I bought for myself while I drank a glass of wine by myself. Before you start feeling sorry for me, though, let me just say that I’m not feeling sorry for myself today. I refuse to. I have too much to be thankful for! Yes, I realize that if you go through my posts you will find me lamenting my losses and wallowing in self pity sometimes, and we all do that occasionally, but not today! Today is about love, and I have had too much love in my life to feel sorry for myself today. So, I decided that this morning I would make a list of things I’m thankful for, things and people that make me want to celebrate on this holiday. They are…

A Journey with His Demons (Story)
(The events in the story are purely fictional and not meant to reflect any reality related to the author)
His head dug into the desk, like a soldier in a trench. His demons haunted the walls of his mind. A constant buzzing of self-doubt simmered in his brain.
His breath grew heavier and his eyes caught specks of dust that drew moisture (or so he said).
His mates worried about him. He wasn’t his normal self. But no one cared to enquire. Lest they were wrong. Maybe it was nothing.
A Single Man’s Valentine’s (Poem)
Valentine’s Day:
The worst day of the year:
Constantly reminding him of his loneliness
Were the happy couples canoodling in the park,
And holding hands in the corridor,
And “studying” in the classrooms,
And “eating” in the canteen.
